Aaron Rodgers Imposter Tricks Packers Fan

Aaron Rodgers is a lot of things to a lot of people. One thing he is surely not is stupid. Fresh off the heels of his COVID controversy, the superstar quarterback is likely laying low and playing it pretty close to the belt as he prepares for Sunday’s important divisional matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.

Which is exactly what makes this next video so satisfyingly funny for Vikings’ fans.

Two nights before the Border Battle, a man pretending to be Aaron Rodgers tricked a diehard Packers fan into the thrill of a lifetime at a bar in Maple Grove, Minn.

Here is the text and video that a personal friend/Packer fan of mine sent to me.

Amazing.

It’s not the least bit surprising that someone from a fan base that happily pays $300 for a worthless piece of paper would be easily tricked. But it still feels like easy common sense would have alerted anyone that this was not the real Aaron Rodgers. First and foremost, he’s a decent match but certainly not perfect. Even I can tell that in a grainy video. Secondly teams generally travel to opposing cities on the Saturday before a game. Third, and maybe most obvious, say Aaron Rodgers was going to do something insane like break protocol this soon after a controversy. Why would he choose Maple Grove, a Minneapolis suburb that is at best 20 minutes away from whatever swanky hotel the team would have been staying in?

“Hey, guys it’s me Aaron Rodgers, one of the richest and most famous people in the sports world! Instead of enjoying the downtown Minneapolis nightlife, I’m going to head out to Maple Grove to get drunk with people who have settled down in life!”

Most importantly, I’m sure this is this guy’s thing. Which is hilarious. He probably travels to whatever city the Packers are playing in each week, heads out to the bars, and gets all the free drinks and attention anyone could ever want. Got to give him credit, it’s a pretty slick move.

Viking fans should enjoy the hell out of this video because, with the way this season has gone for both franchises, come Sunday afternoon the real Aaron Rodgers might likely have the last laugh.
