Fresh off of their first win of the season Vikings fans across the state headed over to their Twitter feeds to relish in the positive words about their team. Yet a mere 15 minutes after the game the excitement was dampened by a now-deleted Cam Danztler tweet:
The Vikings 3rd round pick from 2020 has had a tumultuous tenure continuing today with his 2nd DNP of the year. Earlier this week he had finally voiced his displeasure with the surprise benching for the season opener in favor of Bushaud Breeland. Although he may have a point with how terrible Breeland has played this year, this may not be the proper way to handle the situation.
Despite Mike Zimmer’s reputation as an ultimate cornerback guru, Dantzler is just the latest in a long line of failures that the Vikings have tried to develop. With Jeff Gladney off the team here’s hoping Dantzler is able to calm down and Mike Zimmer and his staff are able to coach him up. At some point fans would love to see the once promising player making some plays for the purple instead of tweeting negative nonsense after a season saving win.
