The Chicago Bears could be winless, and the Minnesota Vikings could be undefeated, and a trip to Soldier Field would still feel daunting to Vikings fans. But, as the season hangs in the balance, the Vikings have a reason to feel positive on the injury front ahead of their prime-time matchup against the nothing-to-lose Bears.
Appearing on SKOR North, Vikings insider Darren Wolfson stated that not only was Adam Thielen progressing in his rehab, but he also could return for the big-time game.
Anyone remotely familiar with high ankle sprains nose how difficult the injury is. For a wide receiver, who relies on their ability to cut and move quickly, it’s even more difficult. If Wolfson is right and Thielen continues to trend towards playing, it could be the uptick Minnesota needs to break their nasty losing habit in Chicago.
K.J. Osborn has been admirable in his replacement duties, but Thielen is otherworldly. In a season where Justin Jefferson has been continuously showered with praise, all Thielen has done is make important catch after important catch. Much like Dalvin Cook last week, his return will be a huge boost for a team in the thick of the playoff hunt.
