This excellent run the Mariners have been on looks like it will keep rolling along tonight against a team they’ve dominated all season. With the expected pitching matchup for this game, I’m counting on that domination to happen early at this better price.
Seattle is 11-2 straight up against Texas this season, but I don’t want to lay the heavy juice of -170 for them to win. I also don’t want to go with the run line since 6 of those 11 wins have been by a single run. But betting the Mariners to hold the lead after five innings not only gets me standard juice, it has a strong history with them being 8-5 to that number across the series.
I’m expecting George Kirby to continue improving as he has all summer, plus he’s been excellent against Texas with a .179 on-base average allowed in two starts. This is looking like a bullpen game for the Rangers, but the rumor that they’re using an opener for Dallas Keuchel really got my attention. Kuechel has already had the worst numbers of his career for two different teams, and this third time is not likely to be the charm. That should only improve Seattle’s already dominant record against Texas here, as they take an early lead and don’t look back.
