Bill Barnwell Sounds the Alarm On the Vikings' O-Line

Bill Barnwell released an article listing his “Achilles Heel” for each contending team in the NFL on ESPN+. He used ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI), which gives the Minnesota Vikings a 54.4% of making the playoffs this year. While that’s a good sign for Kevin O’Connell‘s squad, Barnwell identifies a weakness with which fans of the Purple are all too familiar.

Same as it ever was for the Vikings, who have seemingly been attempting to solidify their offensive line for most of the past decade. They certainly have invested plenty of picks into line help over the past few years, but the only upper-echelon starter they can count on is right tackle Brian O’Neill, who made it to his first Pro Bowl a year ago.

Barnwell goes in-depth on the camp battles along the O-line this year and touches on every potential starter. It’s a must-read if you have ESPN+.

Things seem to be shaping up for the Vikings. Most fans are more optimistic about the team than they were last year. But O’Connell will have trouble maximizing Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Dalvin Cook if Kirk Cousins doesn’t have time to operate the offense this season.
