Davante Adams Takes A Shot At Packers Fans

For the national media, Davante Adams’ off-season departure from the Green Bay Packers was the perfect twist in their never ending Aaron Rodgers storyline.

The best wide receiver in the league decided to go play for another quarterback? Sensational. How will the moody and dramatic Rodgers respond? The segments filled themselves. Experts prognosticated and predicted and most often landed on success for the Raiders and a soap opera in Wisconsin.

Then the season started. And after one week things weren’t pretty.

The Packers got destroyed, their top draft draft pick dropped a wide-open touchdown, and the entire offense looked completely out of sync. Meanwhile Adams and his long lost Buddy Derek Carr looked like an undeniable tandem.

But two weeks later oh how the tides have turned.

The Packers are two and one and finally building a roster that can survive a difficult playoff run and the Raiders are and Owen are the only 0-3 team in the NFL and are already having players only meetings.

And let’s check in on those stats shall we?

With all of this happening and the media questioning Adams and his situation the former Green Bay star receiver decided to take a shot at Packers fans.

“All the Green Bay people will definitely still be on that, trying to compare the stats and all that, but we’re not doing this thing for stats at the end of the day.”

The people in Green Bay will still be on that? Packer fans have been over it. ESPN was the one who made a huge deal out of Adam’s week 1 success and the Packers’ failures. He was asked questions about it then and had every opportunity to squelch the conversation at that point. The truth is it felt good when it was in his favor and when it goes the other way instead of owning up to his failures he throws it on a fan base that supported him forever.

Listen, in theory I understand what he’s saying here. But to imply that a move to Las Vegas was better for your title hopes is absolutely absurd. To imply that the fans that supported you forever are only in it for statistics is beyond ridiculous. The dust has started to settle and the picture is becoming clear. Davante Adams made a mistake and the Packers are on their way to being a better, more balanced team for it. I’m sure that frustrates Adams immensely, but bringing up the idea of chasing a title when you’re 0-3 is not a good look.
