This is a rough travel and situational spot for Washington to be in, and I think it hurts them at least early in the game. The Huskies had to travel to the east coast for last week’s game, mount a furious comeback to win a tight one, and then fly back home. That’s where they’ll find a Rutgers team fresh off their bye week, which is historically a great spot for the Scarlet Knights who are 8-0-1 ATS off a bye with Greg Schiano.
So Rutgers should be competitive in this game overall, but especially early thanks to some dominance from them in first halves this season. Rutgers is 6th in first half scoring nationally, which compared to Washington ranking 97th should allow for the fast start needed to be competitive by halftime. I think Washington is a little overinflated in this game in general given who they’ve played, so look for Rutgers to cover this favorable number in a favorable spot.
WNBA (0.75 Unit) Las Vegas Aces -2.5 @ Phoenix Mercury (-110; Odds via BetMGM): 7:00 PM CT on ESPN
I wish the WNBA Finals wasn’t a 4-game sweep, but it sure looks like that’s how things will unfold. The Satou Sabally injury is massive, and her being out tonight takes away the Mercury’s best volume shooter and scorer. Losing that in a game where they need to keep pace with an Aces offense that is red hot the past couple weeks isn’t a good formula for success. Sabally has given them critical contributions in this series and in the playoffs overall so she will be sorely missed, and I just have to back Vegas to finish their title run off at this short number.

That Aces offense doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down at all, especially not early in games. They’ve been crushing first half totals in this series with 45, 46, and 55 points in the three games, along with 45.0 first half points on average in the 6 games the Aces have played against Phoenix with A’ja Wilson healthy. If the Aces want to jump on the Mercury early to finish this series off, I think they’re very capable of it and it will result with them clearing this total.
