NCAA Football Hawaii/California Over 50.5 (-110; Odds via Fanduel): 7:00 PM CT on ESPN
So you thought that since it’s Christmas Eve and there’s only one sporting event happening that you’re allowed to not bet an over? You deserve a lump of coal in your stocking. Grab some egg nog and wait for Santa to bring plenty of points in this game, as both offenses are very capable.
This total dropped a few points based on windy conditions expected in Honolulu, but I don’t think that’s going to cause a complete shift in philosophy for these teams. Hawaii ranks 7th and Cal ranks 12th in pass attempts per game, so their preferred style is to let it fly and a little wind in a bowl game isn’t going to stop them. Both squads have very talented quarterbacks with strong arms, perfect for cutting through a little wind.
Just in case though, both defenses are very susceptible to explosive runs, so the ground game is an alternative route to lots of scoring. So sneak a couple more cookies that were supposed to be left out for Santa, and watch the scoreboard in this game light up like the tree next to you.
