Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson is the last big remaining domino waiting to fall in the trade market.
Still, even after dishing out massive contract extensions to wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, the Bengals may work something out with Hendrickson. If they can’t, the Bengals will likely trade him elsewhere, and there’s a package that would send Hendrickson to Green Bay that makes a lot of sense.
Per The 33rd Team, a Hendrickson trade package to the Packers could revolve around three picks. The selections included should be enticing to Green Bay Packers fans.

Seeing Myles Garrett cash in with $40 million per year already cost Cincinnati more than what they surely wanted with Ja’Marr Chase, and their decision to also keep Tee Higgins further tightened their financial belt. … The Packers are an ideal landing spot for a top-notch defensive star. This is a young roster with only a few notable needs, so spending two picks in this class won’t sting.
Adding Hendrickson to the equation for a defense that is hellbent on getting to the quarterback rushing four would be a dream scenario for defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. The Packers struggled to disrupt the opposing quarterback when bringing four last year. Hendrickson would immediately solve any doubt about that issue again in 2025.
Green Bay has the financial flexibility to make such a move. It would back up Brian Gutekunst’s comments in January when he stated it’s time the Packers started competing for championships.
Parting with only one first-round pick to land Hendrickson would be ideal.
Think of it this way: Would you rather the Packers take an unproven prospect at edge rusher at No. 23 or get a proven superstar at the position that only costs you that No. 23 pick and a fifth this year plus a two next year? The answer should be simple: the Hendrickson option.
Green Bay always likes to “be in the mix” when it comes to big players that become available. When the dust settles, they’re rarely the team that gets that player. Snagging Hendrickson and inking him to a new deal could very well be the piece that puts this defense over the top in 2025 and beyond.
