SHANE LEMIEUX

HEIGHT/WEIGHT/AGE

6-foot-4
310 pounds
22 years old

BIG PICTURE

Shane Lemieux is almost 23 years of age following a five-year stint at Oregon that included a redshirt season and 52 starts at left guard, where Lemieux was as durable as a player can get. Earned All-American status multiple seasons with the Ducks and was invited to the Senior Bowl this past winter. He is probably better in the run-blocking game than in pass protection, and his athletic profile may not translate as well to a zone scheme.

COMBINE NOTABLES

5.11 40-yard dash
25.5-inch vertical (T-7th worst)
107-inch broad jump
8.13 3-cone drill (5th worst)
4.9 20-yard shuttle (8th worst)

VIKINGS’ COMPATIBILITY RANKING

2.5 out of 5. May not be athletic enough to fit Vikings’ blocking scheme, but there’s plenty of good film available to make an informed evaluation.

HIGHLIGHTS
WHAT DRAFT EXPERTS SAY

Lance Zierlein, NFL.com: “Barrel-chested grinder with the toughness and power to play brute ball in the trenches. Lemieux is well-known for his toughness and intelligence. He’s an experienced, well-schooled guard. He’s athletic enough to perform in a variety of run schemes, but does his best work with combo blocks and double teams. Against NFL interior athletes, he will find it tougher to keep blocks centered and sustained. He should be OK as a run blocker early on, but his issues in pass protection might not be quickly fixed and could push him into the “good backup, eventual starter” category.”

Joe Marino, Draft Network: “Shane Lemieux enters the NFL after 52 starts in college and is primed to make an NFL offenses run game better. A versatile run blocker, Lemieux is dominant as a drive blocker and moves people against their will while he’s also an effective worker laterally in addition to on the move. There is work to do in pass protection with his hand and footwork that must be cleaned up before he can be inserted into the lineup on Sunday’s but he has the makeup of a quality starter in the NFL by Year Two/Three.”

WHAT PFF SAYS

1 sack allowed as senior
3,500-plus career snaps at left guard
75.1 run-block grade (above average)
