Timberwolves

It's Been a Long Time Since the Timberwolves Looked This Good, But How Long?

Now standing at 7-3, the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking like a totally new team. So new, it’s hard to remember just how long it’s been since they’ve had this much success. It’s the first time since 2001 that they’ve started the season with a better record. It’s been since 2007 that they were last four games over .500. It’s been since 2009 that they’ve won five straight games.

So, how long has it really been? This table might help you understand.

Year November 2001 – The last time the Timberwolves started with a record better than 7-3 January 2007 – The last time the Timberwolves were 4+ games over .500 January 2009 – The last time the Timberwolves won 5 straight games

How old was Tim? 10 years old, still trying to figure out why Stephon Marbury decided to leave. 16 years old, trying to figure out why Mike James wasn’t bringing the Wolves back to prominence. 18 years old, trying to figure out how David Kahn became a basketball executive in the first place.

If history keeps getting added on, the flashbacks in time might get even crazier. For now, it’s okay to enjoy the fun.
