MOLESKY: Top College Wagers for the Weekend

For my fellow sports gamblers, these are the bets I have going this weekend along with some others I like the looks of. All the bets I make I am actually putting money out there, not just risking yours.

I will win or lose with my readers, as it should be.

My Bets

Louisville was favored over Purdue by 26 points, which I took before it dropped to 24.5. The line is now at 25 points in favor of Louisville. I took the over because Purdue took last in almost every defensive category last season, which means that Lamar Jackson should make short work of this team.

Washington versus Rutgers has a 52-point over/under, with a bet on the overs. Washington averaged 41 points per game and should be able to put up this much against Rutgers and when they pull starters the Boilermakers can put some points up.

The final bet is a seven-team parlay, taking Georgia (minus-650), Nebraska (minus-800), Michigan State (minus-1300), Eastern Michigan (minus-650), Central Florida (minus-1400), Navy (minus-330) and Boise State (minus-450). All are heavy favorites against players that are not in Power 5 conferences. When parlaying all the heavy favorites, you end up with a plus-145 bet without having to go against a favorite or bet on an upset.

Other Bets I Like

California is a 13-point underdog to North Carolina, but the Tar Heels lost the second-most offensive production of any team in college to the draft. Cal only needs to keep within 12 points for you to win money.

Notre Dame is an 18-point favorite against Temple, with a 56-point over/under on the game. The Fighting Irish are in a heavy downward spiral and have been for the past few seasons. While Temple is not an elite football team, neither are the Irish. This is a tight game and worth both betting against the Irish spread and taking the under.

The LSU Tigers are favored by 15.5 points against BYU and it is basically a home game in the Superdome in New Orleans. Derrius Guice may prove to be just as dominant a runner as Leonard Fournette and will pound the BYU defense, which means a bet on the favorite would be a sound decision.

There are the bets you should take, and best of luck to all of us.
