Vikings Complete Draft Class by Signing Dalvin Cook, Jack Tocho and Stacy Coley

The Minnesota Vikings signed the final pieces to their draft class, having signed Dalvin Cook, Jack Tocho and Stacy Coley yesterday. Coley and Cook share an agent, which may be one reason they were the last of the rookies to sign a contract with Minnesota.

The Vikings have been dealing with NFLPA objections over contract language that they claim conflates terms prohibited by the 2011 Comprehensive Bargaining Agreement and terms that are allowable for rookie contracts.

Though the NFLPA had asked Vikings rookies to hold off on signing contracts with the team until this language is resolved, it seems as if rookies went ahead and signed with the team anyway.

The contract language offered by the Vikings has not changed since the beginning of the new CBA, but this is the first year the NFLPA objected.

Expect the team and the NFLPA to continue their conflict in some manner, perhaps through something as drastic as arbitration or as mild as an agreement by the Vikings to change their boilerplate rookie contract terms after a protracted discussion.

For now, it just means the Vikings have all their rookies under contract and ready to contribute.
