The new-look WNBA jerseys have officially dropped.
Much like the NBA, the WNBA has switched its jersey sponsor from Adidas to Nike prior to this season. On Thursday morning, it unveiled its redesigned threads.
The league gave an early and brief look at the new jerseys on Twitter, showing both the front and the back of the jerseys.
The jerseys appear to have a pretty consistent design with all 12 teams across the league, outside of the color differences.
For the Minnesota Lynx, one of the Nike jerseys that they will wear this season was included in the league’s tweet, showing the front of a blue jersey not really that far off of what we’ve seen them wear in year’s past.
The blue jersey has a darker tint of blue along the sides, with some grey mixed in as well. Similar to the Adidas jerseys, the Lynx logo remains placed in the upper right-hand corner with Mayo Clinic running across the middle of the uniform.
Here’s the brief appearance the new Lynx threads made in the WNBA’s video:
The look of the back of the jersey will likely be similar to that of other team’s around the league, with two large stripes running from the middle of the collar to about halfway down the jersey. The players name will remain under their number, much like in past years.
Here’s the only look at the design of the back of the jerseys that the league showed in the unveiling:
For the last two years, the Lynx have worn blue and grey jerseys, ditching their white jerseys following the 2015 season.
It’s still unknown exactly how many sets of jerseys Nike plans on having for each WNBA team this year, but if the four different jerseys that Nike designed for each NBA team is any indication, we could maybe see a few different WNBA uniform combinations hit the hardwood this summer.
The WNBA plans on providing a first look at the new Nike jerseys at Thursday night’s WNBA Draft, which will begin at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
