For the first time since Jerry Rice in 2010, the Pro Football Hall of Fame has a first-ballot Hall of Fame wide receiver.
According to several reports, Randy Moss was one of eight players elected, and one of two receivers. Fellow receiver and former NFC rival Terrell Owens got in on his third attempt.
Moss, who played 13 years in the NFL, becomes just the sixth receiver in the history of the Hall to make it on the first ballot, joining Rice, Steve Largent, Paul Warfield, Lance Alworth and Raymond Berry.
Moss spent his first seven seasons with the Vikings and quickly became one of the most accomplished receivers in league history. He still holds several single-season records, both for his rookie season and beyond. This includes the single-season receiving touchdowns record, which he broke in 2007 with the New England Patriots.
He is second all-time in receiving touchdowns and fourth all-time in receiving yards.
