REPORTS: Linebacker Kentrell Brothers Suspended Four Games Without Pay

According to multiple media reports, Minnesota Vikings linebacker and special teams ace Kentrell Brothers has been suspended for the first four games of the season.

Last year, Brothers took the third-most special teams snaps behind Ben Gedeon and Marcus Sherels. Not only that, he was also a primary backup linebacker alongside Emmanuel Lamur, who is no longer with the team.

With the departure of Lamur, the Vikings will have to rely on Eric Wilson to fill in the gap left by Brothers both as depth for the defense and on the special teams units. The Vikings will also likely use this early open roster spot as an opportunity to provide competition between Wilson, recent acquisitions Reshard Cliett and Antwione Williams, and late additions like a late-round draft pick and some undrafted rookies.
