MLB – Chicago White Sox ML (-110) @ Minnesota Twins: 6:00 PM CT on Bally Sports North
The Twins are really having a tough season and injuries are only making things harder. Bailey Ober is expected to start for Minnesota, so above all else, we can expect a short outing.
On the other side, the White Sox are sending out Dylan Cease who is actually having a decent season (7-3). Cease will look to take advantage of a Twins lineup that will most likely be without Josh Donaldson and Byron Buxton. This is simply not a team that should be getting near even odds against the only real contender in the American League Central.
Because of that, I’m rolling with the White Sox today.
MLB – Milwaukee Brewers ML (-120) @ NY Mets: 6:10 PM CT
This is another case where I want to exploit a pitching matchup against a good team again.
The Brewers’ lineup has been strong lately with the exception of last night. With their ace on the mound in Brandon Woodruff (1.87 ERA), it seems like a favorable matchup against one of the worst offensive teams in the league. The Mets struggle to score runs in a big way, so the combination of factors in this game leads me to believe there’s good value for the Brewers here.
As for the Mets, they will look to get a good performance from Tylor Megill, who has only pitched a single full game worth of innings all season so far. Milwaukee’s bats took the day off yesterday, so I expect them to bounce back today in a Brewers win.
