With the World Series on the line, down 3 games to 2, Kirby Puckett told an entire locker room to jump on his back. He then made good on his words in a way very few players in Major League Baseball history ever had.
First the catch.
Then the home run.
For a franchise that has seen so little success over the past three decades, Puckett’s heroics serve as both a wonderful piece of nostalgia and an example of what this team so desperately craves. Here’s to hoping we won’t have to wait another 30 years to see this sort of happiness at the Twins’ ballpark.
