The Minnesota Viking’s year ended the exact way we all thought it would. Embarrassment. The team that tried so hard to convince you they weren’t frauds were indeed the most fraudulent 13 win team in the history of the NFL. A Giants team that had gone 2-5-1 over the last 8 games walked into their home building and controlled the game from start to finish. Kirk Cousins, despite doing many good things this year, did exactly what everyone expected from him with the money on the line.
As Cheeseheads everywhere enjoyed Minnesota’s exposure even Packers players couldn’t keep from celebrating the moment.

More interesting than the loss for the Vikings is where they’re headed from here. This was the absolute peak version of this team. With a quarterback on way too big of a guaranteed deal and a bunch of veterans about to be cut, this team is headed for a rebuild. Justin Jefferson will surely command the biggest contract for a wide receiver in NFL history this season and the team will likely have to lose Adam Thielen, Dalvin Cook, Eric Kendricks, and Harrison Smith. When you stack all of that on top of their disaster of a draft in 2022 and they’re pending first place schedule this team is headed straight for the toilet.
What makes things worse for the Vikings are the missteps by new GM Kwesi Adofo Mensa. Yes the Hockenson trade was good, but shipping off a fourth pick for Jalen Raeger is a disaster. Trading within your division to hand your biggest competitions each a potential superstar wide receiver is worse.
It’s clear the NFC North will go through Detroit and Green Bay for the foreseeable future. Hereβs to hoping the Vikings have a lot of fun hanging their division championship banner. Go Pack Go.
