MLB (0.5 Unit) Zach Littell Under 2.5 Earned Runs (+110; Odds via DraftKings): 3:10 PM CT on Fanduel Sports SUN
This is a tough situational spot for the Twins, having just played yesterday afternoon down in Miami, and playing another day game without a day off. It’s a classic Malinsky Special and those tend to hit the offense of a team the hardest, so just in general it might not be a great day for the Twins at the plate. Not that they’ve had many lately, scoring just 3.1 runs per game in their past 3 series. They’ve also been held down by Littell before this season when he allowed just 1 run in over 6 innings of work. The Twins are 21st or worse in offensive metrics against righties like Littell, so I expect him to look good considering all the disadvantages for Minnesota today.
MLB (0.5 Unit) NY Yankees/NY Mets Over 9.5 (+100; Odds via BetMGM): 2:10 PM CT on MLB Network
This Subway Series is an interesting one with both teams having just dropped out of first place. For the Mets it was because their offense let them down, and with the Yankees it’s on account of their pitching going horribly wrong. Now the Yankees send out the starter arguably most vulnerable to blowups in Marcus Stroman, which would be a good way for the Mets to get their bats back on track. But the Yankees also fixed their hitting problems just as the pitching problems started, so they’re a recipe for overs right now and I see these teams rewarding the over steam driving up this total.
MLB (0.5 Unit) SF Giants/Athletics Over 10 (-110; Odds via Fanduel): 9:05 PM CT on MLB Network
The Giants seem to have turned around some atrocious hitting problems the past two nights, so this game should help them continue to bounce back at the plate. Even struggling teams that are put in this minor league park, with the wind blowing out, should regain their confidence with the bats. They’ll also face JP Sears tonight, who has struggled at home all season with a 6.68 ERA, and can make their issues against lefties turn around in a hurry.
But the Giants should have their own issues to worry about on the mound with Justin Verlander going again. The old veteran has turned into much more of a fly ball pitcher, and that’s not a good recipe for him in this park with these weather conditions. I think the A’s jump on Verlander early, while the Giants get to both Sears and this awful bullpen throughout the game to send it over the total.
