Molesky's Weekend Wagers

For my fellow sports gamblers, these are the wagers I have going this weekend along with some others I like the looks of. For all of these bets, I’m putting my money down as well.

I will win or lose with my readers, as it should be.

Hopefully, you were able to make some money off last weeks lines I gave you. Do not fear, I too, am very upset about the Louisville game. But now it is on to the next week — and this week we also have NFL games.

My Bets

This is the weekend for parlays, with two big ones paying out solid money.

The Stanford Cardinal are getting six points on the road to the USC Trojans. The Cardinal are returning both Quenton Meeks and Alijah Holder at the corner spots and safety Justin Reid. The Trojans showed just how bad their receivers are, which hurt Sam Darnold in the passing game. Stanford will not give up three touchdowns to Ronald Jones II. Take Stanford with the plus-6 points.

The first one is a string of heavy favorites and a tight game. The parlay is New England Patriots (minus-450), Pittsburgh Steelers (minus-450), Atlanta Falcons (minus-290) and Houston Texans (minus-230) all parlayed on a money line. Houston is a bit of a shaky team with its quarterback situation. However, the defense was a top-10 squad and this feels like a real do-it-for-the-city game because it is the first game after Hurricane Harvey.

The next bet is the Seattle Seahawks getting three points on the road against the Green Bay Packers. The defensive line looks nasty after the Sheldon Richardson addition and while the offensive line is a dumpster fire, Russell Wilson is still a top-five quarterback. The defense puts this team ahead of the Packers and the three-point cushion makes for some breathing room on the bet.

The last bet of the weekend is another seven-team parlay. The teams are the Atlanta Falcons (minus-300), Iowa Hawkeyes (minus-140), New England (minus-550), Louisville Cardinals (minus-400), Ohio State Buckeyes (minus-320), Washington Redskins (minus-105) and Pittsburgh Steelers (minus-450). Some of the lines look different than above because this bet was made a few days later. Iowa is the only real risk but the defense will keep Iowa State in check. The Redskins offense should have no problem out-passing the Philadelphia Eagles. The payout is 9-to-1 and the risk is really on one game, so this is my favorite bet of the week.

Lines I like

The over/under for the Oklahoma-Ohio State game is set at 65 points. If Ohio State can hit that over in a game against Indiana they can hit it when playing Baker Mayfield and the ever-explosive Sooners. Take the over on this one.

This one you need to wait out but the Cleveland Browns over/under on total games won is set at 4.5 games. Going under and anticipating the Browns to get three games better than last season is still a big improvement, while still winning you money.

There are my bets plus a couple extra, good luck this weekend.
