Degenerates

Rays-Dodgers Over 8 (-110): We’ve reached a point of the year in which there are nights with only one or two games on after being spoiled for the last couple months with more games than we can handle. Although there’s less to pick from, there’s always a play to be made for a degenerate.

With Walker Buehler scheduled to take on Charlie Morton in Game 3 of this series, it should allow the lesser arms to get more innings tonight in Game 2. Tony Gonsolin is no slouch, and Blake Snell has been his consistent self through this postseason, but these two lineups can explode at any moment and 8 is just too low of a number.

I expect the bullpens to be used quite a bit in this one as the Dodgers will more than likely have Gonsolin used in some sort of opener role ironically against the team that made it so famous, the Rays. The closer the game, the more it favors the Rays late so just something to keep in mind as this series continues.

Every day he will offer his Locks and Degenerate picks. Locks are the games he’s confident in. Degenerates are entertaining, but riskier picks.
