As far as strange seasons go in this weird year, Colgate’s might be one of the most unique. The Raiders have played just five teams all season, and two of those teams were for the first time in last week’s Patriot Conference tournament. As a result, their metrics are significantly inflated and they’re not ready for a team like Arkansas.
The prime example? Colgate’s offense, which is 8th in the country in field goal percentage because it been built up against bad defenses. But when shots aren’t falling against a Razorback defense that’s 62nd in opponent effective field goal rate, the floodgates will open and the fast-paced Arkansas offense will pull away.
Arkansas has elite guard play with Moses Moody, JD Notae, and Jalen Tate that can take them deep in this tournament. It starts here, Hogs roll in a blowout.
NCAA Basketball – Oral Roberts/Ohio State Over 156.5 (-110): 2:00 PM CT on CBS
The NCAA didn’t put this game on CBS for no reason, there are going to be fireworks in this one. The nation’s leading scorer, Max Abmas, is just one of the reasons we’ll see a lot of points here. Abmas and the Golden Eagles play at the 28th fastest pace in the country, take the most threes and make them at the 8th best percentage. They are also the best free-throw shooting team in the country.
Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for over bettors, ORU doesn’t play much defense either – 311th in points allowed per game. They will be up against a Buckeyes team that’s 10th in offensive efficiency. I also think this will be a much closer game than the 16 point spread is implying, so a fast-paced and tight tournament game is a great recipe for an over.
