Look, there’s no point in getting super technical with the NFL right now. The playoffs have turned into a crazy crapshoot in which apparently only the last 2 minutes decide games. That being said, there are few things harder to do than to beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs at Arrowhead, especially after beating them in Cincinnati just over a month ago. It’s not easy beating the same team twice, especially when the second time is at a place like Arrowhead. I’m a big Joe Burrow fan but his offensive line has really made things tough for him and against Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Co., things won’t be the same as week 17. Chiefs find a way to get this one done one way or another.
San Francisco 49ers +10 @ Los Angeles Rams
At this point, it might just be me being stubborn but I don’t believe in the Rams. Much of this San Francisco 49ers team has already been in a Super Bowl, and I could not be more impressed with the 49ers’ weapons on offense right now. We know their defense is for real but when guys like Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk are playing the way they have been as of late, it’s tough to stop even a struggling quarterback like Jimmy Garoppolo. This game is also not being played in negative temperatures which should help Jimmy G get back on track. I’m honestly taking a shot at the 49ers moneyline, but +10 just feels too good to be true on a tease.
NCAA Basketball (0.25 Unit) Delaware St. @ Morgan St. -14.5 (-110): 3:00 PM CT No TV
This game ended up being postponed yesterday due to weather, so let’s run it back. Morgan State is a far better team than their recent struggles suggest, and today presents the perfect opportunity to get right. Any time you play Delaware State, you have a great chance to take out frustrations, as the Hornets still have by far the worst average scoring margin in the country. It’s much worse on the road, where DESU is losing by an average 30.1 point margin.
Morgan is the fastest-paced team in the country, and I see them cutting through the awful DESU defense all day for a virtual 40-minute layup line. The Hornets just don’t have the offensive capability to match and that’s a recipe for a blowout. The Bears had one of the worst 2nd-halves imaginable on Monday, so I see them taking it out on perhaps the easiest victim in the country.
NBA (0.75 Units) Utah Jazz @ Minnesota Timberwolves (EVEN): 6 PM CT on Bally Sports North
This was a late addition, so I’ll keep it short. No Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell should give the Wolves a really good chance of beating the Utah Jazz tonight. Utah is heavily reliant on Gobert for rim protection, and we all know how good Donovan Mitchell is. Throw in the Jazz being on a 2-10 straight-up run and it makes this one even more appetizing. The Wolves are also dealing with some injuries but an even spread at home against a team without their 2 best players is simply too good to pass up so get it before it continues to steam towards Minnesota.
