RUMOR: Clippers Proposed Trade Involving Blake Griffin and Karl-Anthony Towns

Most rumors will never leave the “rumor stage.”

This will almost certainly be one of them.

According to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders, the Los Angeles Clippers proposed a trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves surrounding Blake Griffin and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Here are some reactions from Zone Coverage writers on Twitter.

This is all said, of course, because Towns is 22 years old, on a rookie deal and is playing the best basketball of his career. Griffin, as good as he’s been, is riddled with injuries, and is six years older than Towns.

And, as Dane Moore mentions in his tweet above, it doesn’t make sense financially without adding more pieces on Minnesota’s side.

Don’t expect to see this rumor go any further.
