NCAA Basketball – North Carolina -13 vs. UNLV (-110):
Welcome to the Maui Invitational from beautiful…..Asheville, NC? Weird, but this is obviously much closer to a home game for UNC than for UNLV. I’m surprised this is only a 13 point spread. The Rebels are coming off a 13-point home loss to Montana St, where they were a 12 point favorite, so this should be a mismatch against the talented Tar Heels. UNC looked a little sluggish against Charleston, but still covered the 17 after finding their groove — and that seemed pretty worst-case scenario in that one. Once Roy Williams teams get into that offensive groove, watch out. I think the Heels roll here by something around the 20-point mark.
2-Team-6 Point Teaser; Seahawks Even, Seahawks/Eagles Under 54.5:
As a degenerate, I’ll probably make a play at the Seattle Seahawks -6 as well but this Philadelphia Eagles team has been lousy all season long, and I am not going to count on them to wake up tonight. Jason Peters is banged up and questionable while Lane Johnson has already been ruled out for the Eagles, so I expect that to give them some issues against a Seattle pass rush that was able to come up with three sacks against the speedy Kyler Murray just last week.
Regarding the under, the weather is pretty gross, and the Eagles’ 30-point outputs have simply been anomalies this season. I see this game being 31-20 at the very highest output and more likely 24-17 or something around that mark so tease the Seahawks and the under in this one for what should be a relatively safe win.
